Understanding skills in demand

Skills for work must relate to qualifications that are recognised, understood and valued by employers.

We actively research which skills are in demand in the areas in which we operate and aim to develop or connect with vocational training that enables our clients to acquire relevant and appropriate skills for work.

As a former nationally accredited training provider (in Australia), we know the importance of closely matching the design and implementation of skills training to the need of the labour market and individuals.

Our Skillstream system provides short term training in skills which are in demand by specific employers. We actively target employers and industries which have vacancies which are suitable for our clients. We work with those employers to understand their business and determine which skills they require within their workplace. We then develop skills training courses which meet the employer needs and which equip our clients with skills for employment in that industry and with that employer.

Employers are included as presenters on the course so that our clients can learn directly from them, ask questions to prepare themselves for employment. The skills course also assists clients to prepare CVs and applications, and to develop targeted interview skills.

We encourage our clients to pursue opportunities such as apprenticeships, work experience and traineeships that will enable them to earn while they learn as well as addressing current shortages of people for entry level jobs.
